It was a stormy day in London. Lestrade had gotten a call from America, asking for his help in solving a case. They had mentioned that they wanted only the best detectives on the case. So why are they calling me? Sherlock’s the one they should be asking. After the call, he decided to go to Sherlock’s flat. Once he got there, Sherlock was up to his usual antics; pacing back and forth from the living room to the kitchen, researching on his laptop, and performing an experiment. His friend, John, had gotten up from his spot on the couch where he was reading the newspaper to answer the door.
“Sherlock, I’ve got a case for you.”
“What is it?” inquired Sherlock, as he bent down and looked into his microscope.
“I got a call from an investigative team in America. They need some help solving a case. They asked for only the best detectives to work on it. I thought who better than Mr. Sherlock Holmes himself!"
"Where in America?" Sherlock hardly accepted cases outside of London. He liked exciting, thrilling cases the best. Since people from America had called for help, he thought it must've been an impossible case for them to solve.
"Near the East Coast. There has been a series of puzzling cases and they can't seem to figure them out. If you'd like, I could call them back and ask for some more details on the cases."
"Oh, yes, that'd be great! John, have you got any plans for the next month or so?"
"For the next month? We're going to be in America for over a month?! Bloody hell, Sherlock!" John exclaimed. He didn't quite like the idea of being dragged far away from London. He had fought in the war in Afghanistan, but he had become accustomed to living in London and being pulled into many adventures with Sherlock. But, America? That seemed a little outlandish, even for Sherlock, who was pretty unpredictable, and crazy at times.
"You'll be meeting a man named Will Graham once you get there," said Lestrade, as he looked at his phone and dialed a number. Sherlock started to put some parts of his experiment away, for he was eager to get to America and solve the cases. He didn't even know the full details of them though! But, Sherlock had a secret liking to traveling, especially to other places where he would very rarely venture. Sherlock loved adventure, how could he pass this up?
