I saw Star Trek Into Darkness last weekend... IT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME!
It was actually too awesome for words.

I bet you totally ignored that spoiler warning.
WELL ANYWAY

So it begins with Spock and Kirk and Uhura (but mostly Spock) trying to stop a volcano from errupting and wiping out the species that lives on the nearby island. They succeed, but Spock almost doesn't make it out, so Kirk has to go and save him. However the USS Enterprise is underwater so they have to come up, and risking all the inhabitants of the island seeing the ship. They do, and that's against Starfleet rules, so Spock, being the honest Vulcan he is, reports it. The USS Enterprise is taken away from Kirk, and given to another person. And Kirk is demoted from Captain to Commander (at least from what I remember.) While going to their new ships, someone (THAT SOMEONE IS NAMED JOHN HARRISON, THE TOTALLY BADASS VILLIAN IN THE MOVIE PLAYED BY THE BRILLIANT and good looking BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH) suddenly starts attacking the Starfleet HQ. Someone dies, but I'm not saying who! So then Kirk is all mad and wants revenge. He is given permission to take the USS Enterprise and try to capture John Harrison. However he beamed himself to a planet they must never go, the planet that the Klingons live on. Kirk takes a smaller ship with him, with Spock and Uhura along for the ride ( of course he'd invite Spock because they're like space husbands ). Uhura can speak the Klingons' language, so she's the one that gets off and tries speaking to them. However it doesn't quite work, so Kirk and Spock come out shooting. But then SOMEONE ELSE (*COUGH*JOHNHARRISON*COUGH*) is on a nearby ledge and starts shooting also! He kills a few Klingons, and he jumps off the ledge to where Kirk, Spock, and Uhura are (the ledge is high up, so he had to make a pretty big jump, you'll find out how he did it later, or at least make some assumptions). He asks why they're there, Kirk explains. I'm thinking he had some sort of plan, so he immediately surrenders. They take him to the USS Enterprise, keep him in a little "prison" room with a glass window. I forgot what happens after this, sorry. XD
BUT THEN the USS Enterprise is in trouble, and they need John Harrison's help. Kirk tells him this, and brings Scotty along with him, but Scotty is skeptical. For the first few minutes everything seems fine, BUT THEN DUN DUN DUN he turns on them (of course you lil' shit John Harrison) and they're inside Harrison's ship, the USS Vengeance. And inside, commanding while Harrison was gone, is DUN DUN DUN Admiral Marcus. They have a little battle inside the ship, one of them ends up dead (NOT SAYIN' WHO BUT THEY ARE KILLED BY JOHN HARRISON BY HIM CRUSHING THEIR FUCKING HEAD [and the head being crushed isn't show for reasons, so screamers, you're fine] And it gets more intense from there. Once again, forgot what happens next~
And then Harrison crashes the ship, and what I find weird is tHAT HE JUST PICKS UP HIS COAT WHEN HE HASN'T EVEN BEEN THERE IS AWHILE LIKE HOW EVEN DO YOU FIND IT and he continues to run away. Spock comes off the USS Enterprise, runs after him... Then an aircraft comes by and Harrison makes a riDICULOUS JUMP ONTO THE TOP OF THE MOVING AIRCRAFT then Spock makes aNOTHER RIDCULOUS JUMP but this time onto the edge of it to try to keep going after him. They run around some more, they start beating each other up, Uhura has to be beamed down so she can stop them, but Spock knocks out Harrison. THEN it's back to on board the Enterprise.

Okay I think I didn't spoil much. Well anything too important.
(I actually left out most of the important things SO YOU CAN GO WATCH IT AND STILL ENJOY IT WITHOUT KNOWING ANYTHING TOO IMPORTANT.

So, basically:
Harrison was a lil' shit in the movie but he was a really good villian
Kirk is one of the heroes of this story (I left that part out but of course he is he's CAPTAIN KIRK)
Scotty and Chekov were awesome in the movie as well
Spock is a badass in this movie as well
